2017 Wrap-Up


It's the end of the year, and we at Mom2Mom Global want to take the opportunity to look back and ahead at how we're growing to meet the needs of breastfeeding military families! 


We are so proud of the major accomplishments our organization has achieved this year.


In April, we announced our merger with Breastfeeding in Combat Boots.  We are thrilled to formalize our relationship with the only designated breastfeeding resource exclusively for military servicemembers.  

Phase 1 was the creation of a joint social media team that manages our three Facebook pages, Breastfeeding in Combat Boots, Mom2Mom Global, and Breastfeeding Support Groups of the Military. We still have a couple of openings, so if you are interested in volunteering, please contact our Social Media Manager, Selina Maldonado!


Phase 2 of our merger is the launch of our new joint sponsorship programs, our Star Sponsors (for large corporations) and Mom2MomPreneurs (for small businesses), as well as several other sponsorship opportunities for all budgets.  We are so excited to offer these opportunities for businesses to connect with our unique niche demographic of breastfeeding military families, and for our members and followers to learn about services and products that will help them in their breastfeeding journey!  Contact Outreach Director Maria Batlle for more information.


In addition, we are proud to announce that we have joined ILCA's Global Partner program, and we have continued to expand our participation in the U.S. Breastfeeding Committee through various constellations to elevate and amplify the voices, needs, and experiences of breastfeeding military families in national and global policy discussions.  


Looking forward, we have identified these goals for 2018:  To continue to center equity, diversity, and inclusivity in all of our organizational work, and to identify gaps and advocate for true equity for all breastfeeding military families.  To fill our open volunteer positions.  To improve and expand our peer support programs, including re-evaluating our Peer Mentor program and new social media admin training for all of our Chapter Leadership to ensure consistent, up-to-date, evidence-based peer support within our Chapters. To expand partnerships and scholarship programs to remove the financial barriers to military servicemembers and spouses attaining accredited lactation credentials. 


We have a lot of work ahead of us!  


Lastly, I want to take a moment to personally thank all of our amazing volunteers.  Without you, there would be no Mom2Mom Global.  First, thank you to our Chapter Leaders are continually innovating to meet the needs of their local military communities.  Huge thanks to our Staff, the unsung heroes of our organization, constantly demonstrating the flexibility, grace, and commitment to our mission as only military families know how.  And finally, thanks to our amazing Board of Directors, who have demonstrated an indomitable spirit of dedication, creativity, inspiration, and leadership to drive our organization forward, all while juggling kids, jobs, and the realities of military life.  This has been a year of great change and growth for us, and we invite you to join us as 2018 brings even better things!
